The 3rd MineTech Annual Technological Innovation Competition will be held in the framework of MINEX Kazakhstan 2019. Technological companies, individual inventors and teams from Kazakh mining and technical universities will be able to present their unique technical and innovative solutions for some to some of the problems encountered by companies.

This year, the competition will be divided in three streams:

  • MineTech Business
  • MineTech Invest
  • MineTech University

The winners of the competition will be awarded a Competition diploma and valuable prizes.

This competition is aimed at companies providing services and technologies for mining sector.

  1. Solutions which have already been piloted (which have been tested in real life) will be accepted for presentation.
  2. Projects are assessed by the following criteria: innovativeness, practical significance and proven effectiveness.
  3. The presentation of the participants’ solutions will be assessed by the competition jury during the forum.
  4. The competition will take place in a session format. Each of the competitors will have 15 minutes, including time for questions and answers, for the presentation of technical solutions.
  5. Registration for participation in the competition is open until 1 March.
  6. The presentation slides should be forwarded for evaluation by the jury no later than 15 March.
  7. The presentation slides for projection on the screen should sent no later than 25 March.

MineTech Invest part of the competition will provide platform for innovators looking for business partners and investors who could assist with the transformation of innovative technology project into a marketable product.

The competition is open to teams of mining and polytechnic universities interested in presenting unique technologies and innovative solutions to improve mining productivity in Kazakhstan.

Participation in the competition is free, however the teams’ expenses are not covered by the Forum Organising Committee. Registration for participation in the competition is open until 1 March.

Stage one

Presentation of individual and/or group projects.

  1. Each of the competitors will have 15 minutes, including time for questions and answers, for the presentation of solutions.
  2. The expert council will select the most interesting solutions for presentation during the forum. The winners will the determined by a jury comprising representatives of top companies and experts.
  3. The presentation slides should be forwarded for evaluation by the jury no later than 15 March.
  4. The presentation slides for projection on the screen should sent no later than 25 March.

Stage two

Case competition for university teams

  1. Before the beginning of the competition, university teams will be presented with technical case studies.
  2. The solutions offered by the teams will be evaluated by specialists from the companies presenting the cases.
  3. The winning teams will be awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
  4. We encourage universities to give consideration to the diversity of the cases when putting together teams for the competition.
  5. Technical cases may be presented in the week prior to the competition and even during the course of the competition. In the latter instance, competition teams will given two hours for the solution of cases and the creation of presentations.

Universities will also have the opportunity to present posters for free during the exhibition on 3-4 April. The technical requirements for posters are available via the following link: Downloads. Posters should be prepared at the university’s own expense, and should be delivered to the exhibition no later than 8am on 3 April.

Partner Companies

For partner companies presenting tasks to be solved during the competition. The competition organisers would like to invite companies interested in solving problems relating to the optimisation of production and support for innovation in the mining sector to join us as partner companies.
